A life left still memento; It was September of 1998 and Karl and I were going to see the Pirates play The Cubs with our buddy D.C. Josh Tanzer. While waiting for Karl I was trying to help Megan get rid of the plastic siding - with a shovel mind you - that covered her and Karl's porch, not paying attention to the glass window for ventilation. I smashed my fingers through the glass, since I'm always so graceful with everything in life. Megan wanted me to go to the hospital because I needed stitches and Karl just said, "Aw Jeez." Needless to say she bandages me up with a frown because it was Sosa against the Pirates. Knuckles would always heal, but going to a game with Karl was always priceless. Sosa hit number 57 and the Pirates lost. But, I still will always have missing skin and scars to this day.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

The depth of the songs and sonics is profound, throughout this. I happened to run into Chris in Vermont and he humbly didn't mention what he'd been up to. Extremely happy I went on my own and found this brand new release; a GEM. David Fenichel
